Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity received $20,000 from We Buy Ugly Houses® at a check presentation today in honor of a quaint 1923 Fox Lake home winning The Ugliest House Of The Year®. The national contest highlights the most dramatic “befores” and “afters” from the houses purchased and renovated in 2024 by HomeVestors of America’s independently owned and operated franchises around the country, which Tara Farnsworth and Bob Albrecht of Antioch won this year.
As a result, Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity, received the $20,000 donation from HomeVestors, which Larry Goodman, CEO of HomeVestors of America, was on-hand to present to Joel Williams, President and CEO of Lake-McHenry Habitat for Humanity at their Gurnee location.
HomeVestors prides itself on buying homes traditional buyers may not consider like The Ugliest House Of The Year, improving and reintroducing them as valuable real estate assets, helping maintain an affordable housing supply. Habitat for Humanity also works in local communities across all 50 states, working towards a vision both organizations share of a world where everyone has a decent and affordable place to live.
